Our Shabbat services are fully egalitarian – people of all genders participate equally in every aspect of worship. We strive for a healthy balance between tradition and creativity. Services are primarily in Hebrew, blending familiar nusach and contemporary melodies.
On any given Shabbat, you’ll find people with many different Jewish backgrounds: longtime members, those who grew up in more traditional settings, and people who have chosen Judaism as adults. Everyone is welcome.
Shabbat is at the heart of community life at Schaarai Zedek. Our goal is for worship to be meaningful, thoughtful, and grounded in real life.
Each month we offer family-friendly options, including Family Services and Tot Shabbat, so children and parents can celebrate together. Throughout the year, special services and guest speakers highlight a wide range of themes and voices.
We invite you to join us – in person or online.
Start your Shabbat morning with thoughtful conversation and community. Our weekly Torah Study meets Saturdays at 9 AM, both in person and on Zoom, as we explore the text together and continue our journey through the Torah.
Please check our calendar for the most up-to-date information on meetings and holiday schedule changes.
